The Preston Hollow Studios Story
Preston Hollow Studios are the fine art studios of Gary and Martha Vaughan. Gary has a woodworking studio where he creates furniture, including bespoke Colonial furniture, and all kinds of functional and decorative work in wood. Martha has a glass and jewelry studio where she keeps the kilns humming fusing glass and creating silver jewelry.
Martha Vaughan
A reformed banker, Martha began to take classes in the arts when she retired. Starting with pottery, she soon moved to silver metalsmithing and then to fused glass. After a few years, she began to enter and show in juried art shows in both ceramics and silver jewelry, and later became a certified instructor in metal clay silver.
Now working primarily in fused glass, Martha is creating works which explore the nature of light and glass.
Martha is a member of the board of directors of the Alliance for Metal Clay Arts Worldwide where she heads the marketing and communications team.

Gary Vaughan
Gary began working in wood as a teenager, and pursued his craft while running his own building company for many years. He has studied at craft schools across the country, including Arrowmont and the Florida School of Woodwork.
Gary passion ins working with wood to create functional works of art that are as pleasing to the eye as they are to use. He is particularly inspired by Colonial woodsmithing techniques. One of his favorite projects was buying a raw log and hand-working it into a classic Windsor chair.
Blending modern techniques, he also uses CNC technology to create precision-cut designs.
He currently teaches woodworking at the Craft Guild of Dallas, where he launched the woodworking studio.
